KidsS Konnection
During a prayer time as a Children’s Ministry Team we felt God speaking this as our missions statement :
“ I (God) want kid’s ministry to flow from My heart, from My spirit. I want these
children to feel my heart, to feel my love, to feel my presence. I want them to
know me, to serve me, to be transformed by me. I want them to know that
they are loved by the King.”
We join with Jesus in this, as this is also our heart. We want to see our children transformed
by the love of God. We know that God has a destiny, a plan and a purpose for each one of the
children that we serve and we deeply believe that even at a young age our children can walk out
in the callings that God has placed on their lives. It is our desire as children’s ministry
volunteers to allow God to use us to nurture and call forth the giftings that God has placed
in our children and disciple them as they grow.
The children are split up into 5 groups. They are:
Nursery – infants through 12 months (or walking age)
Toddlers Class – ages 12 months through 2 years
Beginners Class – ages 2 through 3 years
Pre Kindergarten/Kindergarten class – ages 4 years through Kindergarten
1st – 5th Grade Class
After 5th grade, the children join the junior youth group, Vertical Realm
The Nursery and Toddler class are available throughout the entire service. All other classes begin at the end of worship (around 10:50).
It is our heart to steward our children well, so we ask that all Children’s Ministry volunteers attend a yearly orientation and safety training as well as complete a Criminal History Background Check before serving in our Children’s Ministry. Each classroom is blessed with a teacher and at least one helper.
Currently our curriculum is purchased through Kids In Ministry International and is
written by Becky Fischer. The Beginners and Preschool/Kindergarten class use the
curriculum titled “Preschoolers In His Presence”, while the 1st – 5th Grade use several
of the curriculum series including teaching on salvation, our relationship with the
Holy Spirit, hearing God’s voice, evangelism, missions, etc.
Another part of the Children’s Ministry at ACTS is reaching outside our own neighborhood.
We try to maintain contact with children of missionaries who have gone to our church, periodically
sending care packages and letters. We also partner with World Vision by collecting a weekly offering
from the children for our sponsor child in South Africa.
If you have any questions or would like more information please don’t hesitate
to contact our Children’s Director. Blessings!
