About Us

Jesus Christ is central to our faith. Without him, and without being changed by him, our lives don’t amount to much. But because of the how the Holy Spirit works and moves in our lives, we know he can work in the lives of others. Like any healthy congregation, we are continually growing and changing. Part of that growth and change comes because we have core beliefs and values that are fairly non-negotiable, things that we’ve prayed about and are excited to present to people.

Vison

We endeavor to be a people fully alive to Jesus Christ. We live with confidence in the transforming power of Jesus Christ. Therefore we believe that relationships established with our neighbors, in our communities, in the marketplace, and in the nations will result in people coming to faith in Christ.

Purpose

Restoring lives through the message of Christ.
Our ministries regularly ask the question: “How are we bringing about a restoration of life through what we do?” That keeps us focused and intentional with congregational life. We firmly believe that a restored life is the best way to transform a culture.

Values

1. Lifestyles of joyful obedience and intimacy with God
2. Dedication to relational and purposeful Christian Community
3. Discovery and development of each person’s gifts and abilities
4. Participation in sharing the good news of the Kingdom of God in all areas of life.
5. Worship in which people can creatively respond to Jesus’ work among us
6. The Word of God as our guide for life and faith
7. Intercessory prayer that supports individuals and the overall ministry of the church.

Values are those things that flow through and out of our life together. From the most to the least important decisions, our values guide and give meaning to how we assess our effectiveness as a congregation.

Commitments

• Facilitate ministry with intentionality, integrity, honesty, and creativity.
• Train and equip people to be effective in their areas of responsibility.
• Strengthen families so they are places of joy and life.
• Work together in a multi-generational, multi-ethnic ministry where mutual learning and honor flourish.
• Develop leaders for the ongoing growth and health of the church.
• Assist teams to work together to accomplish more than they can alone.
• Encourage and affirm the many people who volunteer in different ways.

We like to be people of our word. If we say we’ll do something, we want to do it. So these commitments are statements of intent. This is a “people intensive” piece, and one that we take seriously.

So our vision, values, purpose and commitments, keep us focused. And here’s how we try to live and work that out in practical ways:

Who are we trying to reach?

Our target group, or people we are called to reach as a congregation, are persons who are in need of healing and restoration, those who have never known Christ as Savior and Lord, and those who have walked away from Christ and His church.

Why are we trying to reach them?

We are a Missional church. Throughout all we do as a congregation, Missions is our passion. This has been so from the beginning of Acts and is part of our DNA. We are working at how that can take place locally in as clearly a focused way as it is overseas. Mission is not something that just takes place “out there,” but right in our back yard.

What do we have to offer?

We live out our lives in a relational way, one that emphasizes community.

How does this make a difference in anyone’s life?

We affirm blending individual uniqueness into a unified body. We welcome a diversity of gifts, focus and calling, and live that out in ways that demonstrates that we love each other.

What’s our motivation?

We know that if we, as people who are obedient to the Lord, do these things, the harvest is promised from Him. We pursue Him, not the harvest.

We are doing all these because of the One who gave his life for our liberty- Jesus Christ. We see all these things working together, a competent and courageous people, forsaking all for the Kingdom of God!
